6/26/2002 Women's 101 class begins. 38 women signed up for the beginning running and walking program...with the completion of Saturday in the Park 5K as their goal! We know they can do it!
5/30/2002 More sponsors on board. Monmouth County Chief Association, Windmill and Two River Bank continue to support the event.
5/24/2002 Women's 101 schedule announced. The 10 week training program will start on Wednesday, June 26. An open house will be held on Sunday, June 23rd, at Holmdel Park, 3-5 pm, where participants can sign up for the program, as well as meet the program coordinators and mentors. 4/8/2002 Beginning Runner Training Program Announced: John MacGillivray has joined the SIP race committee, and will be heading a 10-week Program for Beginning Runners, Wednesday evenings, 6pm, starting June 26th ending the week of the Saturday in the Park Race.
4/1/2002 JSRC announces Saturday in the Park Women's 5K 2002 beneficiaries. The 9th Annual JSRC Women's Race - "Women Taking Steps to Help Women", is scheduled for August 31st, the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, and has expanded the list of benificiaries to include:
180, formerly the Womens Center of Monmouth County - has served families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault for over 26 years.
Epiphany House, Asbury Park - transitional housing, health care and social services to homeless women who seek to recover from addiction to alcohol or other drugs.
Providence House, Lakewood - offers services to individuals and their family members who are affected by domestic violence.
Spring House, Eatontown - provides housing, life and work skill classes as well as childcare, for homeless women with children.
